Rita Sowins is the founder of Sowins Design, an award-winning graphic-design studio specializing in book design. Based in Los Angeles, she has designed and produced more than 250 books in a wide array of categories, including interior design and architecture, cooking, horticulture, and garden design.
Her publishing clients include Vendome Press, Monacelli Press / Phaidon, Rizzoli, Artisan, Clarkson Potter, Potter Style, Gibbs Smith, St. Martin’s Press, Flatiron Books, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Ten Speed Press.
Rita holds a BFA in Communication Design from Otis/Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles. Her work has been recognized in such distinguished design publications as Communication Arts, HOW, and Print, among others. Her books have been featured in Architectural Digest, Bon Appetit, C, Dwell, Design Milk, Elle Decor, Food & Wine, Food52, Epicurious, House Beautiful, Los Angeles magazine, Sunset magazine, and Saveur, as well as on the Today show.
